How to host websocket on IIS & ASP.NET

Hi,

I am convert a PERL socket listener (.pl file) to C# & ASP.NET. I read your websocket functionalities and it is what I need to

replace the PERL script. Here are questions:

1. What ASP.NET web template would I use to port the c# websocket over so that I can be hosted on IIS and just listen to incoming traffic? I prefer that it behaves the way it does in the orignal code, where the client use the ip address and Port number (1) to connect and create the socket (2) transfer the data. That is how the PERL client and server works. I am not looking for a WCF template.

2. How would I configure the IIS webserver to get this ASP.NET websocket to work?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

JC

Im not sure how that would be done. You need the IIS to catch the requests coming to the websocket server, but as these are coming on a different port, the IIS would not (by default at least) handle those.
